Fallen

Fallen was written by Lauren Kate. It is Fiction, but believe me when I say, you wish you had ever lasting love like there is in this novel. For seventeen year old Luce Price, that has happened over and over again. She just transferred to Swords and Cross high school. She was the type of girl that didn’t talk to others unless they came up and talked to her. The first day of school she noticed this young man with blonde hair and violet eyes staring at her. She would try to talk to him but he would run away whenever she got the chance. It was almost like she knew him from another life time. Luce felt this sudden connection and she didn’t understand why. After talking to some of the students at her school, she found out that Daniel was a fallen angel. He was between good and evil. During the novel, Luce finds out that she has been reincarnated every 17 years. When she reaches her 18 birthday, she bursts into flames, dying. You will find out why in my other blogs about this series.  She meets Cam, a friend of Daniel, and later finds out that Cam is evil. Luce had to battle for her life with Sophia, the librarian at the school who was pretending to be good. She tried to get under Luce’s skin; trying to figure out everything that she could about Luce. It was her birthday when this battle happened. The angels and fallen angels were fighting each other. They were both waiting for Luce to burst, but then Luce’s best friend, Penn, was killed. It somehow reversed this curse on Luce. She didn’t die. Then again there are four other books after this one, so of course she wouldn’t die. I loved this book for many reasons. I couldn’t stop reading it. It was so interesting how Luce is reincarnated and how Daniel fights for her love every time that she is reincarnated. The plot just sucks you in and doesn’t let you go until you read that very last word on that very last page. If you’re into fantasy stories, this is almost like one. You’ll enjoy it. I promise you.
“I get to live forever," he repeated. Luce was still lost, but he kept talking, a stream of words pouring out of his mouth. "I get to live, and to watch babies being born, and grow up, and fall in love. I watch them have babies of their own and grow old. I watch them die. I am condemned, Luce, to watch it all over again and again. Everyone but you." His eyes were glassy. His voice dropped to a whisper. "You don't get to fall in love--"
"But...," she whispered back. "I've...fallen in love.”
